Bella Dodd

In the early 1950s, Mrs. Bella Dodd provided detailed explanations of the Communist subversion of the Church. Speaking as a former high ranking official of the American Communist Party, Mrs. Dodd said: "In the 1930s we put eleven hundred men into the priesthood in order to destroy the Church from within." The idea was for these men to be ordained and progress to positions of influence and authority as Monsignors and Bishops. She stated that: "Right now they are in the highest places in the Church" — where they were working to bring about change in order to weaken the Church's effectiveness against Communism. She also said that these changes would be so drastic that "you will not recognise the Catholic Church." Dodd gave testimony on communist infiltration of Church and state before the House UnAmerican Activities Committee in the 1950s.

On Tuesday, August 5, 1952 she publicly announced that on April 7th of the same year, she was received back into the Roman Catholic Church. Not being able to secure her baptismal certificate from Italy after inquiry, she was therefore conditionally baptized by Bishop Fulton J. Sheen in St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York.

I read about this a long time ago. The seminaries in South America have been infiltrated also. The book "Good bye Good Men" and "Unicorn in the Sanctuary" are two books that talk about those that have the destroy the Catholic Church aganda. So I want to know about these new changes in the Liturgy that the American Catholic Bishops are going to impose on us. What's that about?

A paperback edition of Bella's biography, "School of Darkness" is available at pcpbooks for $22.00. Its a nice bio which gives the flavor of communism in NYC from the 1920's until 1950. She really was a tragic hero. God Bless her.

Bella Dodd was a hero not only because she returned to the Catholic Faith but also because she had the "courage" to tell about her part in the infiltration of radical marxists into catholic seminaires. We thank her for this vital information to help save souls against the wolves in sheep's clothing who are in high places in the church today.

i dissagree dolorosa, there is NOTHING "Heroine" about bella dodd!!!!!!if it wasen't for HER and her communist coharts, maybe our BELOVED CHURCH wouldent be going through the 'TRIAL'S she is going through right NOW,and maybe HUNDREDS of INNOCENT Children down through the YEARS would NOT have been RAPED AND ABUSED, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO CALL HER A hero.

Whatever did happen to the list Bella Dodd gave Bishop Sheen of those she trained for seminary? Did Dr. Alice Hildebrand ever state these names?

I agree that her acts were heroic and couragous after her conversion. Those who can not see this are the same people who still cast St. Mary Magdalene in the role of the harlot and St. Paul in the role of St. Stephen's murderer. It's absurd. When a person converts and repents, they have the same rights as everyone to HIS mercy and HIS redemption. He didn't die just for the faithful but to find the lost sheep. She was lost and lead many other souls astray in her lostness. This would not have been possible had the sentries been adequately prepared for the battle ahead...of consecrating Russsia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary like Our Lady of Fatima asked in 1917. She warned against this growing tide of errors spread through Russia and as of yet, Russia has still not been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Don't blame Bella Dodd. She's as much a victim as everyone else of these errors that were warned against. But more than a victim, she is a hero b/c she had the courage to convert and speak out the truth of it's evils.

Very well said! We all need to see also the hope that Bella Dodd's story shows. No matter how bad a life one is messed up in,God's mercy is profoundly infinite...... We can always change our evil ways, and be saved!

I hate you extremists. Only you can distort the intended meanings like this. So if she was a hero, what of the people who have been harmed as a result of what she did? Suppose they did wrong in their own ways ay. I can't wait til everyone one of you blind little sheep wake up and realise that the rest of the world hates the pedophile church institution

Bella Dodd, by her faith and courage, actually helped some communists convert to Catholicism. The Catholic Church doesn't teach priests or anyone to be a pedophile. A good book to read on this subject is "Good-bye, Good Men" by Michael Rose. Pedophiles are in every profession and in other religions as well. A lawyer even stated that many of the cases were about homosexuality.
