Small scene from the movie, The Great Sinner

We are all sinners and can certainly relate to the scene
in this movie.   Bless me Father, for I have sinned ....
When was the last time that you went to confession?
Confession is good for the soul!  It is truly a gift from
God through His one true church.  A good book to
read is available here.

Dr. David Allen White

Dr. White converted to the Catholic Faith in 1979. He has won some 35 converts at the U.S. Naval Academy to the Catholic Faith. Here is his story.

A video of Dr. White's conversion is available to watch here.

Dr. Allen White is the author of the book, The Mouth of the Lion which details the resistance of Catholic Tradition (led by the late Bishop de Castro Mayer and his faithful priests) against Modernism in the diocese of Campos, Brazil.  Today is the anniversary of the death of Bishop de Castro Mayer who was faithful to the traditions always taught before Vatican II.  What happened after the death of Bishop de Castro Mayer?  Dr. White tells us the devastating story here.

A review of Dr. White's book, The Horn of the Unicorn is available here.

Excellent video on "The Errors of Russia is Predicted in Russian Literature" by Dr. White.

The Sadness of Christ by St. Thomas More

This book was the last that St. Thomas More wrote in the Tower of London before he was executed for standing firm in his Catholic faith. In it, he explores the Gospel passages that depict the agony of Our Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane. He depicts Christ as a model of virtue in the face of suffering and persecution. And along the way, he includes valuable and eternally relevant reflections on prayer, courage, friendship, statesmanship, and more. Here is an excellent resource for Lent or anytime!
